Born and raised in Baltimore, Barbara Herron retired in 2013 from a career in federal and state government and the nonprofit sector. Over the years she wrote reports for the Nixon White House and speeches for elected officials, edited and produced publications, and wrote TV and radio spots as well as scripts for videos. She worked on projects that received awards from the Maryland-DC-Delaware Press Association, National Federation of Press Women, Association of Government Communicators and the Public Relations Society of America. Her duties also included event planning and grant management, skills which were directly transferable to film production. Sharing a love of movies with husband Craig, she worked with Herron Designs Productions on the award-winning short films “A Fall from the Clouds” and “Freedom Dance,” as well as an orientation video for Essex Community College, for which she received a Telly for writing. She also worked on feature films for Film Brothers, One-Eyed Horse Productions and Fruits of the Spirit Productions. “Bermuda Triangle: A Love Story,” inspired in part by travels with her husband, is her first fictional script.
